Mahaanmaar (Men)

We like to support and promote our Men folks as compassionate, considerate, and supportive of their family, community, and society. By becoming our member and participating in our regular activities they can gain a lot and some are listed below:

  • Meet and maintain your regional, linguistic, ethnic, art, cultural and language needs, and requirements.
  • A community living and an opportunity for regular social gatherings devoid of any menaces of modern society living.
  • Sporting opportunities like Badminton to improve their health and for mental relaxation after a stressful days’ job.
  • Networking opportunities among people of different walks of life in our community and outside.
  • Meet people from their professions, discuss and improve their skills and knowledge in their sphere of activity.
  • Personal, professional and employment support as is required.
  • Opportunity to gain a job through our employment support programme.
  • Opportunity to participate, learn and improve your qualifications and subject knowledge.
  • Opportunity to meet, group and undertake activities and interest of each ones liking, like travel, holiday, picnic, trekking etc.
  • Organise cultural or other learning and personal improvement activities of your liking along with likeminded individuals, OHM NZ members – For e.g.  “Chenda” class, an ancient instrument only performed by Keralites in that form, being conducted and organised by a group of members interested in that instrument, taught by a teacher from Kerala over Zoom.
  • An opportunity to get rid of your shyness and meet people of different walks of life with confidence and for public speaking.
  • An opportunity for everyone to be part, experience, and learn “Sadya” cooking and related activities during our festive celebrations.
  • Learn to be part of a group and to work in a group and thereby get an experience in organising and managing various public functions and activities, sharing responsibilities, prepare for contingencies etc.
  • To learn people and crowd management opportunities.
  • Various volunteering opportunities, internal and public thereby a chance to meet the community needs and to put a mark of your own in those fields and to feel self-satisfaction for a job well done and get appreciated and recognised by the community.
  • Opportunity to participate in social services and public activities thereby get a chance to meet people outside your work and community, especially politician, national leaders, and people of respect in position in our community and country.
