Plant and share

“Plant and share” concept was conceived, introduced and propagated by OHM NZ with a sole intention to inculcate an interest in planting shrubs and vegetables by our members for their use in their backyard in leisurely times and thereby enjoy gardening, produce vegetables for their families by themselves and make it a hobby to get rid of their daily job related tensions and relief from other distractions and unwanted mental pressures.

It’s all started by creating a WhatsApp group called “Plant & Share” in 2019, open to all those who are interested in planting and growing their own vegetables free of any harmful fertilizers and pesticides and wanted to learn more about it and exchange ideas, availability and information about seeds, seedlings, pests & pesticides, fertilizer etc.

Many who did not know anything about planting vegetables or gardening at the beginning of this programme have started growing various vegetables in their backyard along with experimenting some novel ideas on planting and trying to introduce new vegetable items that can be successfully planted and harvested. By sharing this knowledge, the others in the group also started emulating these experiences and successfully adding the new verities and techniques to their backyard. We also started sharing information on timing, how and when to start planting and tips on what homemade pesticides to use to get rid of any plant diseases. Any questions or doubts on planting vegetables asked here will be answered by someone immediately.

To encourage others and to create a competition among these new gardeners, these members were asked to post the pictures of their plants, and harvest in this group along with their experience in growing this product. Then this became a competition among these members to show off their produces and the group became very alive and active, and more and more people started showing interest to join this group and in planting vegetables and is successfully continuing.

As the name suggests and the idea envisioned at the beginning of this programme, the “share” is still limited to seeds and seedlings only and not to the actual produces itself

Following is the WhatsApp link for those who are interested to join this group.
